After attending a blogging seminar put on by Internet veteran Dave Taylor, James realized that companies who were willing to use open channels of communication to their customers, business partners and even competitors could build relationships in ways never thought possible.
In 2005, James began a blogging initiative that quickly became a key part of InsureMe’s corporate culture. James created and became head writer of the InsureMe Affiliate Blog – a blog dedicated to helping online affiliates be more successful with their online marketing. Topics included tips and tools for search engine marketing; search engine related news and updates on the latest issues and trends in affiliate marketing.
The InsureMe Affiliate Blog received the Web Marketing Association Standard of Excellence Award in the categories of marketing and blogging in 2006 and 2007. Affiliate marketing expert Durk Price also recognized the blog as one of the top 10 affiliate marketing blogs of 2007.
In addition to his writing duties, James created and lead InsureMe’s blogging team, which was responsible of writing and promoting as many as three corporate blogs at one time.
Personally, James also authors Marketing Punk – a blog that focuses on life, blogging, and the world of marketing.
